Sayuri Noguchi
Sayuri was born in Miyagi, Japan. She worked as a nurse for about 12 years in Tokyo.
While she was studying nursing, she started to do Triathlon which lead to meet Fumio later.
She is enthusiastic about cooking and baking since she was little. Went to learn Japanese traditional “KoRyori and Kappo” cooking school, private cake making class and Baking school while we were raising three boys in Tokyo.
Immigrated in New Zealand in 1999 then started Sakura B&B business in 2000.
When she got to miss Japanese culture, she established Japanese Taiko Group “RaiJin” in 2007. Performed with team members for many festivals in Northern South Island.
She goes Gym every day to maintain good health and strength. Karate 2-Dan black belt holder.
And of course GOOD COOK!
Fumio Noguchi
Fumio was born in Gunma, Japan. He worked as an Editor of a Running Magazine for 10 years in Tokyo. He likes road running, trail running and has done about 30 full marathons in the world, including NYC, Boston, Honolulu, Antwerp, Gold Coast, Auckland, Rotorua etc…
Won a brand-new car by winning endurance game in Japan, tried similar event in New Zealand 2010 but after 52hours non-sleep exhaustion made him failed to win.
He is a self-taught Netsuke carver. His works have gone to 7 continents, yes, seven including Antarctica!
Two works are now in "Museum of International Folk Art" in Santa Fe, USA.

Three sons
Now three our boys have left home. The oldest one, Mashi works in Japan as an Engineer. Second one, Toma lives and works in Wellington. The third one, Kyohei lives in Nelson and works as a Jade/ Pounamu Carver.
